Everyone wants to have their material seen by their desired audience, otherwise why go to all the efforts that writing an interesting blog post takes?
But when is the best time in the day to share your material? To maximise exposure of your blog post it may be beneficial to schedule it to a specific time of day, where your audience is most likely to actually read it and even take some of the information in.
Studies show that the most popular time that people check social media such as Facebook,Twitter and LinkedIn is between 8am and 11am on a weekday. Some people check for updates during their daily commute to work so around 8am is recognised as the best time to share your posts.
Between 5pm and 7pm is also a popular time as people return home from work and tend to unwind by browsing through updates and interesting posts.
Although during lunch hour may seem like a good time to blog, the fact is that many people tend to just quickly flick through the material and not pay as much attention as perhaps they would if they were sitting on a train.
Weekends are questionable so far as gathering audience to your latest blog update. Whether your blog posts are read during weekends largely depends on the nature of your target audience. Singles are more likely to attend social media during weekends than those with family, particularly with children. Studies show that you are more likely to receive comments on an article during weekends but the page views are not as high.
Facebook and Twitter are the most popular choice at the weekend, especially Saturday morning, so the type of social media that you use to post your article over the weekend can make a big difference to the exposure it gets.
So if you want your blog post to reach its peak views then the best time to blog would be around 8am on a weekday, preferably on a Monday morning. If your access to a computer is limited during this hour then write your post in advance and schedule it to appear later on to ensure you get the most out of your blog posts.
